Summer BBQ '09 Rescheduled!

Assalamualaikum and hello everyone!

How's everybody? Has your summer holiday been good? It's hot, isn't it? Well, we hope that everyone is in good shape and is enjoying the holiday so far despite the terrible weather.

As you all know that Brunei is having drastic haze issue lately. Our air quality is polluted with ashes from the on-going forest fires due to the intense heat we've been experiencing this whole week! Hence, for our part and responsibility to keep everyone in good health and safety, we're sorry to announce that we are postponing BruNotts Summer BBQ 2009 which was scheduled for tomorrow. We'd also like to apologise for this late notification, reason being we were giving more window of time for the weather to improve by today and it didn't happen unfortunately.

Another thing is, the open burning law has been imposed and stricken. This includes barbecuing, so there's nothing we could do about it anyway.

So when will it be then?

Well, the Ex-Co have been discussing about this so-called "Plan B" and we will most probably move this Summer BBQ to next Sunday, 16th August 2009, in conjunction with the planned Appreciation BBQ for the last Executive Committee 08/09. Hopefully, the weather will improve by then.

We will send another e-mail to confirm you all about that as at the moment we need to spread the word out regarding this postponement. We would really appreciate it if you guys could spread the word out to your friends so everyone will be informed.

On the side note, BruNotts Society is volunteering at the Pusat Ehsan's Charity Bazaar this Sunday! If you're not up to anything this weekend, why not head down to Bengkurong to the bazaar? There will be lots and lots of things going on for the whole day and you might just be lucky enough to win lucky draws! It will be great fun! Oh, don't forget to bring money as you'll be donating to charity for every penny you spend on the day :)
